Designer Vico Magistretti balances avant-garde form with intelligent function. Its revolutionary rotating inner shade, inspired by miner's lamps, "eclipses" the light source to adjust between direct and diffused illumination. Available as a table lamp in painted metal (white/red/orange/yellow) or eco-conscious PVD finishes (black/brass/copper/mirror). The sustainable PVD process uses metal vacuum deposition, eliminating toxic emissions while creating durable finishes. Designed in 1965 and awarded the Compasso d'Oro (1967) it featured in MoMA's permanent collection, Eclisse remains a benchmark of thoughtful design.
