Description

At first glance, Vetra appears to be a traditional blown-glass pendant - until it’s switched on. Designer Joan Gaspar subverts convention by placing the light source outside rather than inside the shade, using the closed glass diffuser as a reflector. The result is generous, glare-free illumination that directs light downward while subtly filtering warmth through the interior of the shade. When illuminated, the entire outline of the pendant comes alive, each curve traced in light, creating an effect that feels both unexpected and considered. Available in a generous 430mm diameter, in white and amber, the latter deepening the relationship between form and warmth, sheltering the light in rich, inviting tones. A pendant that rewards a second glance, quietly subversive in its engineering and poetic in its effect.
