The light's unique three-sided shape is David Trubridges third pendant light inspired by microscopic diatoms and is named after the Te Reo Māori word for "three".

The light adds an element of sculptural nature as it can be installed either horizontally or vertically. Crafted from high-quality materials, the Toru pendant light is built to last and features intricate designs that reflect the beauty of the Triceratium diatoms. The Toru is made from sustainably sourced natural bamboo plywood as the main material which is available in Bamboo, or painted on one side, plus double-sided Black or White, thus creating a selection of different options. (For the colour selections an acrylic low VOC (volatile organic compound) paint is used.
