Nīkau - David Trubridge
“Nīkau is the name of the only indigenous palm tree in New Zealand. It has a large bulb at the top of its trunk and its leaves overlap in similar patterns. It was traditionally used for thatching and weaving, much like the coconut palm. But the early Māori arrivals were disappointed to see no coconuts on it, which is a possible source of the name: “no nuts!” ” - David Trubridge
The Nīkau is made with bamboo plywood as the main material which can be all Bamboo as priced above, or painted on one side thus creating a selection of different options, plus double-sided Black or White.
Bamboo, Red, Lime, Aqua, Blue, Pink, Orange, White, Black, White 2 Sides, Black 2 Sides
The Nīkau pendant is made from sustainably sourced natural bamboo plywood. For the colour selections an acrylic low VOC (volatile organic compound) paint is used.
